Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book my child into a permanent, weekly session?

All families are required to complete an enrolment form for each child in order to use our service, updated at the beginning of the school year. Upon enrolment, you will be asked to detail which permanent sessions you wish your child to attend.

Permanent bookings are ongoing, weekly bookings that continue until cancelled. Permanent bookings are priced with a discounted fee. You will be charged for all sessions including absences and placement is guaranteed.

Do you accept casual bookings?

Yes! Casual bookings can be made before midday on the day required, however please note that casual bookings are taken as available and placement cannot be guaranteed. Enrolment forms must be completed prior to the first session. Please ensure you have received confirmation of the booking via email, text or phone call from our staff.

In emergency situations, we can accept last-minute bookings, please contact the Program Leader directly if you require this.

How early can I drop my child off at Before School Care? How late can I pick them up from After School Care?

Before School Care starts at 6:30am and finishes at 8:45am, where we send them directly to their classrooms to begin their school day.

After School Care starts at 3:15pm when school finishes, and our service closes at 6:00pm. Please note that a late pickup fee of $15.00 per 15 minutes per child applies for any child that is not picked up before 6:00pm.

Can I cancel my booking?

Of course. Cancellation of a permanent booking require a minimum of two week's notice, by emailing info@newadventure.com.au. Please advise as soon as possible if there is a change to a booking or there is a change required to the days of care, otherwise you may incur a two-week fee payable based on the previous booking.

Please also note that same-day cancellations of a casual booking will incur a cancellation fee.

Permanent bookings are:

Can my fees be subsidised through the Child Care Subsidy?

Yes! Applications for the Child Care Subsidy must be made online through Centrelink via MyGov portal who will determine what level of benefit is paid for each individual family.

You will be asked to enter into a Complying Written Agreement (CWA) to confirm that your child is attending New Adventure Children's Services and what days they attend or if they attend casually. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian(s) to notify Centrelink of any changes that may effect their entitlements.

Parents must provide the Customer Reference Number (CRN) for the parent who is the account holder for the child(ren) and date(s) of birth in order for our New Adventure Children's Services to claim the subsidy for you and charge only the gap amount.

Our Provider Approval and Service Approval numbers will be displayed in our service to assist with the completion of forms where necessary.

It is preferred that your child(ren) meet immunisation requirements that are determined by the Department of Human Services while attending our service. Please consult your Parent Handbook for further information regarding immunisations.

How can I make my payments?

Payment is by Direct Debit only. Other methods of payment are at the Program Manager's discretion and must be discussed prior to commencing care.

Please fill out the Direct Debit Authority form, attached to the Enrolment Form, or complete your direct debit details through your HubWorks account.

How can I keep up to date with my child's time at New Adventure?

Constant communication between children, families, schools and our team is an integral element to the success of New Adventure Children's Services.

Upon enrolment, you will be given login information for the HubWorks platform and dashboard. As well as doubling as a booking and payment system, we have the ability to send you 'learning stories'. Our staff will give you visual and text-based information about specific themed activities, spontaneous choices and developmental milestones. We use the 'My Time, Our Place' Learning Framework, provided by the Department of Education. Haven't seen an update about your child in a while? Have a chat to our friendly staff on duty and we can organise to update you more regularly!

Updates are also included in the school newsletter and on communication notice boards around the service.

Do you provide breakfast and snacks?

Yes... and your child will be getting some of the best meals and snacks in the area! In 2019, we were awarded a Food Service Excellence Award by Frankston City Council - one of only four establishments to receive the honour.

Breakfast is provided at Before School Care, and made to order from a selection of fruits, yoghurt, toast and low-sugar cereals. Special breakfasts will also be offered, including scrambled eggs, beans, smoothies and pancakes. Specific requests can be catered for regular bookings within reason. Our team stops cooking at 8:00am, so please make sure you are here before then if you require breakfast.

Afternoon tea is served between 3:30pm and 4:00pm at After School Care, and offers a rotating weekly menu, consisting of fruit and a snack to curb the "after-school hungries".

Vacation Care attendees are required to provide a packed morning tea and lunch. Breakfast is served between 7:00am and 8:00am if required, and afternoon tea is also provided by the service.

We are licensed to provide food by Frankston City Council and all food is prepared using the Food Standard Safety Guidelines (AU & NZ). If your child has any allergies or other special food requirements, or you would rather them not participate, please speak to a member of our team prior to their first session.

Do you monitor time spent on technology?

Yes - we encourage all of our children to participate in our daily activities, and iPad and computer use is not permitted for Prep to Grade Five students until after 5:00pm. Grade Six students can use technology more flexibly, but within reason. Please note that we monitor iPad use for all children and do not allow use of applications that are banned during school time. Let one of our friendly staff know if you would like to discuss limiting your child's technology use while attending our service.

Additionally, our senior students (Grades 5 & 6) are free to enjoy our Senior Café area where we have comfortable seating and tables for homework, iPad use and quiet chat.

Where should I park?

Refer to your Parent Handbook for parking information for your specific school. A reminder that all children need to be dropped off or picked up by a parent or guardian, aged 18+ and listed on the enrolment form.
